Congratulations to Michael Rigas On His Nomination As Deputy US Secretary of State

WASHINGTON, DC, December 13, 2024 – We congratulate proud Greek-American Michael J. Rigas who was nominated to become US Deputy Secretary of State, the second-highest ranking position at the US Department of State.

Rigas was nominated to serve as Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources which, along with the Deputy Secretary of State for Policy, is second in line to the US Secretary of State.

Michael served in the first Trump Administration as Acting Director of the US Office of Personnel Management and Acting Deputy Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Michael’s wife Laura also served in the Trump Administration as Principal Deputy Director of Intergovernmental and External Affairs at the US Department of Health and Human Services.
