Andrew (Andy) Manatos, the well-known Greek-American political lobbyist, was honored at a luncheon to benefit the Greek non-profit organization “The Smile of the Child” (Το χαμόγελο του παιδιού). The event took place at Bethesda Country Club in Maryland on March 10th, 2013.

Andy Manatos has set numerous records in the policymaking process of the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives and the Executive Branch as he moved clients’ issues forward.

Before opening his own firm together with his father Mike, Andy Manatos acquired extensive experience including his time as the youngest Presidential advanceman for President Lyndon Johnson, as the youngest U.S. Senate Committee Staff Director and as the youngest Assistant Secretary in the Carter Administration.

Andy currently serves as president of the firm, which he operates with his eldest son, Mike Manatos.

During the event, Manatos was praised by Senator Paul Sarbanes and His Excellency, Christos Panagopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to the United States for his many years of dedicated service to Greek and Cyprus issues in the US.

All proceeds were donated to “The Smile of the Child” which, for 17 years, has promoted the welfare and protection of the health and safety of thousands of the neediest children in Greece.

This highly respected charity has seen its population soar while its resources have been cut severely due to the current economic crisis. For further information, please visit www.hamolgelo.gr.
